CREATING INTERVENTION PROJECTS TO HELP STEER YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
YOUTH INTERVENTION
Our youth intervention came about through our own life experiences. Growing up on the streets of London and experiencing first hand the issue young people face around drugs, gangs, and exploitation was the drive to start intervention projects to help steer young people in the right direction. Through sports, peer mentoring opportunities and exploring their creative side we can make a difference as we understand fully that prevention is the cure.
HOW YOUTH INTERVENTION WORKS
CONNECT
The Youth Interventions Team specialise in working with young people across Southend who may be identified as at risk. We work closely with them to promote healthy social relationships and guide them to better life choices.
ENGAGE
We deliver a range of highly engaging Youth Intervention Programmes which aim to make Southend safer both by challenging young people to change behaviours and providing essential safety experiences.
CHANGE
Young people on our interventions develop personal skills and qualities such as resilience and team work through a variety of activities and practical experiences. We believe that every child has the chance to flourish.
